- CENSUS 2010: (Posted on February 2, 2010)
Attention to all IAA members:
PLEASE PARTICIPATE IN THE 2010 CENSUS
In March of 2010, census forms will be delivered by the postal workers to every residence in the United States and Puerto Rico.
When you receive yours, answer the 10 short questions and then mail the form back in the postage-paid envelope provided.
The 2010 Census Form consists of 10 questions. Among others: name, sex, age, date of birth, race, household relationship, if you own or rent your house.
The census DOES NOT ask about your legal status or your Social Security Number.
What is the Census?
The U.S. Census counts every resident in the United States, and is required by the Constitution to take place every 10 years.
The data collected by the census help determine the number of seats your state has in the U.S. House of Representatives.
The 2010 Census will help communities receive over $400 billion in federal funds each year for things like hospitals, job training centers, schools, senior centers, emergency services, bridges, tunnels and other-public works projects.
Any personal data you provide is protected under federal law.
The census numbers tell the government who we are and what we need.
