Dr. Aemilia Teguh, an Indonesian born pianist who migrated
to the United States
in 1995, was the 2007 recipient of the Outstanding Contribution to the Arts
award presented by the Arizona Asian American Association (AAAA). The award
ceremony took place during the 19th AAAA’s Annual Banquet conducted on
September 29, 2007 at the Hilton Hotel and Resort, Scottsdale, Arizona.
“A Taste of Asia” Evening Entertainment was part of the
banquet. The entertainment consisted of dances of India,
Thailand, Taiwan, and Laos
with a Glamour of Kimono and modern expression of Bunraku performed by local artists
representing Japan.
The popular Indonesian song “Butet” so beautifully sung by Ms. Sandra Lina
enchanted the audience of almost 300 people.
Playing in the keyboard was Randy Trouwerbach.
